CM announces Rs-1 sanitary pad for School Girls and BPL card holders

Chandigarh/ Alive News: Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP Government has taken big decision for providing sanitary pad in Rs-1 per pad specially for school going girls children who bracket of 18 years or BPL card holders females as well from the upcoming month of August.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Education Department and Health Department under the chairmanship of Chief Minister ML Khattar.

The CM in the meeting said the girls age 18 year-old would be given sanitary pad in her school and the above women would be provided from ration shop by PDS system every month and Rs-1 would be charged per pad, he stated.

It was told in the meeting that a report of a survey revealed that only 28 percent girls use sanitary pad while about 40 percent women use cotton, which cause them several diseases. This initiative by the Haryana Government would provide big relief to the school going girls children as well as women.
